The past few days were a whirlwind! Here are a few of the highlights:
Tuesday, September 1:
Packing, cleaning, double checking the list, running to the store for a few last minute items. So much to do! But what a lovely evening. First some friends and ward members stopped by to send Elder Osborne off. They sang some missionary songs and there were lots of hugs and goodbyes and a few tears to go around.
Then it was off to be officially set apart as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We had a great visit with the Stake President and went for ice cream afterwards. It would be wonderful if we could say we went to bed and had a calm and restful night, but there were still a bunch of last-minute things to do. So that was a little less than idyllic. But we slept, and it was off to the MTC the next morning.
Wenesday, September 2:
The long drive to Provo. Then the last few crazy minutes. Some pictures, some hugs, and lots of tears on our end. Elder Osborne was pretty much just excited and ready to get on with it. Which is how it should be. The rest of us were more emotional, but we are all so proud of him. He has spent the last few weeks studying his scriptures and going out with our local missionaries. He’s so ready for the next adventure. Here are a few pictures:
We love our Elder! God be with you ’till we meet again!
